French
At Garrett Hall, all pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 learn French as part of the curriculum, delivered by a dedicated specialist French teacher who brings expertise, enthusiasm and a love of languages to every lesson. Through engaging activities that develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, children gain confidence in using French and learn about French culture alongside the language itself.
In addition, all year groups across the school, including EYFS and Key Stage 1, take part in exciting annual French Days, giving every child the opportunity to explore the language through themed activities, songs, stories and cultural experiences, and helping to foster a whole-school appreciation of languages from an early age.
