Christmas Dinner Day
Children across the school enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner today. We pulled over 300 crackers and enjoyed singing and eating together. Thank you to our kitchen staff and Mellors for such a lovely dinner.

Year 3 Trip to Bolton Museum
Year 3 had a fantastic trip to Bolton museum today as part of their Ancient Egyptians topic. The children loved exploring all the Egyptian artefacts and learning about the mummies. 
Tuesday 12th October
Sponsored Silly Walk
Children across the school took part in a sponsored silly walk today. We had so much fun seeing everyone walk around school in unusual and imaginative ways!
Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored the children, we raised a massive £5460!! WOW! This money is going towards developing our school grounds and reading pods for our outdoor area.

A massive well done to our fantastic Kurling team who took part in the ATSA Kurling competition today. You were a credit to our school and we are very proud of you.
Reception and Nursery Open Days December 1st & 2nd
It was lovely to welcome prospective parents and carers into school this week before they consider applications for Nursery and Reception in September 2022. Our Year 6 ambassadors did an amazing job of providing guided tours and showing our wonderful school off!

Christmas Parties!!!
Everyone in school enjoyed their Christmas parties this week. It was lovely to hear children laughing and having fun together again after missing out last year. The children had a fantastic time!

Christmas Show and Nativity Performances
It felt like watching shows in the West End as we enjoyed the amazing performances from our EYFS and KS1 children.
Our Reception children performed 'Higgledy Piggledy Nativity' and KS1 children performed 'Lights, Camel, Action!' Everyone involved was simply amazing! We are so very proud of each and every one of them! Thank you so much for all the lovely comments and messages about the nativity this week!

Christmas Jumper Day
Today we had our annual Christmas jumper day. The children looked fantastic. A big thank you to everyone who donated items for our coloured hampers on Christmas jumper day and well done to all our winners! :)

Altru Drama Company Performance
Anti-Bullying Week
A huge thank you to Altru Drama Company who have been into school today to perform their anti-bullying show 'You, Me and Us'. What a fantastic end to our anti bullying week 
Some of our children also enjoyed an anti bullying workshop after the performance.

It's Harvest Time again!
We enjoyed another wonderful Harvest assembly this week with Warren from the Atherton & Leigh Foodbank. A huge thank you for all your kind donations, you will make a huge difference to local people in need.

A HUGE thank you the to Book Trust for our lovely new books to take home. Reception were thrilled to take home their very own book in a specially designed bag. What a lovely surprise!
Monday 22nd & Tuesday 23rd November
EYFS & KS1 Class Call In!
We excitedly welcomed parents and carers from our EYFS and KS1 classes into school this week to visit their childrens classrooms and look at the children's brilliant work. It was the first opportunity that many had had to visit our fantastic learning environments and it felt really lovely to see so many grown-ups back in school after such a long absence due to Covid! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did :)

Odd Socks Day!
Today, everyone in school wore odd socks to mark the start of our Anti-Bullying Week. This year we celebrate what makes us all unique. Throughout the week, children across the school investigated differences and learned about the importance of spreading kindness.

Voting for our House Captains
Today the Year 6 children began their campaign to be elected for House Captain. The children wrote speeches ans made banners and posters to encourage people to vote for them. Well done to all of Year 6 who wrote amazing speeches and well done to all the children for their amazing support for one another.

Our Reception children settle into school life...
Our Reception children have fully settled into school and have been enjoying exploring their new classrooms. We have 60 happy, settled and wonderful children... who love to explore, learn, find out and who are enjoying making lots of new friends. Well done Reception! We are really proud of you!
23rd November - Year 4 Yoga!
Well done to our Year 4 children who took part in a fantastic Yoga session with Atherton and Tyldesley Sports Association.
Books, books , books!
We have enjoyed welcoming the Scholastic Book Fair into school again this term after missing the opportunity to browse and buy newly released books over the past few years. All books bought from the book fair contribute to a commission that school gets when purchasing additional books for our classrooms and library.
14th December - Harry Potter Mad!
Our lower junior children enjoyed a fun filled Hogwarts day today. They have spent the day writing spells, mixing potions, wizard dancing and playing the sorting hats game!
